Traffic kiosks
Traffic kiosksTraffic kiosks are increasingly popular outdoor mediums in Bangalore. These are situated at all traffic junctions. They have 6 sides and are back lit. An interesting feature is that they are illuminated using solar power ie. a solar power machine is placed above every traffic kiosk for illumination.

The sides of the kiosk vary from 3x2 x 6 sides or 4.6 x 2.6 x 6 sides. .The standard size is generally be 3x2x6 sides.

These traffic kiosks are flex based i.e. vinyls can be either pasted on them or stretched. They don't use polycarbonate material since this attracts dust.

These kiosks are useful as a backup or a reminder medium, and can be used effectively in conjunction with other outdoor media.

Tata IndicaWe painted the town in April. Quite literally. You may have found it difficult to miss the Tata Indica "1,00,000 celebration offer" hoardings that covered the city. A campaign of 57 hoardings executed in a record time of 2 days.

The going looks great for the outdoors industry - the turnover for the industry in 2000 totaled Rs.1800 crores, At 10% of the total media spends, this puts it ahead of UK at 7.5% and US's 2.5%.
The Mumbai skyline will soon see some new billboards. At least 250 new billboards have been given the go-ahead, and 75 have already been installed in areas such as LJ Road, Cadell Road, Borivili, Kandivili etc.
Advertisers and contractors heave a sigh of relief as the Supreme Court issued a stay order in Chennai against the removal of hoardings. Though this order comes after 50% of the sites were pulled down, it is welcome.
